Sponsored Post: Bathrooms for 2012

This is a post from a new sponsor:

You may not have given much thought to the fashion of bathrooms before, but when you consider how far we’ve come from avocado-coloured suites, it starts to make sense that bathrooms change with the times just like anything else – who thought we would be searching for online bathrooms in the early 1990’s? Let’s take a look at some of the trends we might expect to see in bathrooms during 2012.

One trend is for natural materials in the bathroom. This doesn’t have to be anything major, but little natural touches can make a big difference to the feel of your room. For example, whether you go for some oak bathroom furniture or something such as a mirror with a stone mosaic around the edge, it’s sure to add a lovely homey touch to your bathroom.

We can also expect to see compact bathroom suites being as popular as ever. As you might expect, the ‘classic’ styles never go out of fashion as they are so good for the job they do, but increasingly alternatives are also making their mark. For example, note the trend for ‘free-hanging’ basins, which appear to be held into place on the wall by willpower alone. These can actually be very effective space-savers and so could be something to consider if you are planning to alter your bathroom in 2012.

In terms of bathroom colour, white is still the most popular for bathroom suites. Natural colours are also popular for the walls, especially in smaller rooms as this can make the space appear larger. Decorative tiles – even just a couple to set off the look of the room – are also popular.

In 2012, it’s also likely that glass enclosures will be as popular as ever, particularly for shower cubicles. In terms of bathroom furniture, interesting lighting arrangements are also on-trend – just remember that you should only really have a pull-cord to operate the lighting in your bathroom.

All the bathroom fixtures are sleek, modern and very stylish. I want to have one when I remodel my bathroom.
