Will this work? I Need your opinion!

Look what I just found....only $169.  I hate the mirror on it though. Do you think it would come off?

This is what I'm thinking....BAR CART!!

If I could remove the mirror, wouldn't it look like these super expensive and chic bar carts?

[These are all at Amazon, and you can click on any of the to see, but they are EXPENSIVE!!!!]

So what do you think? Can I turn this

into something resembling this?

I'm not sure I have the welding (or un-welding) skills, but I might have to give it a try!

I like it i think you can transform it, but i'm concerned about adding wheels to it, (if you wanted it to be mobile!) and the height of the shelf being so high you cant really use it for much. HOWEVER it would be a fun project and something to blog about!! I'm looking for one too! Keep us posted!

I think you can di it if you have to saw it off, lol! And I agree, it would make a beautiful bar. That little space would be covered. Bar cart prices are over the moon right now.
Happy Saturday.

Love the idea!! You might need to touch it up with some gold spray paint where you remove the mirror but Stacy, otherwise its genius and looks every bit as goregous as the other bar carts!

See the pic of the round one? I found something like that at brimfield. It is on wheels and had a glass top and a wire bottom...in a metal frame. Anyway the glass broke when we shoved it in the car (my GF broke it and I coulda killed her)...so now I am going to make a mosaic top for it and put it in my dining room as a bar cart. This is a long way of saying you might find a vintage rolling cart that you can remake with paint for your own swanky version. Were you thinking of putting wheels on the vanity thing? And welding is really hard. Hubs has all the welding stuff and is finally figuring out how to do it, but it isn't pretty!! I think you should look in vintage junk shops...

I would snatch it up. You might need to find someone with a plasma cutter (says my boyfriend lol) otherwise it won't be a nice clean line...maybe you can find a shop that will do it for you? Since it only takes a minute I can't imagine they would charge a pretty lady too much! ;)

I think it is gorgeous and would totally work as a bar cart! I'm wondering if since it requires assembly if maybe the mirror doesn't come actually attached to the vanity. It would be awfully awkward to ship it like that so it makes me think that it might be attached separately?? If you go for it we will all bow down to our mad DIY skills! LOL!

I'll bet you a million that mirror is attached with screws and not welded on. Go for it. You could probably get those little wheels that come free with plastic shelving units and modify them for this. Maybe too clunky for this delicate piece...Very intriguing project.

The item says "assembly required." Trust me, that mirror is NOT welded to the base. It is attached with locking screws or something similar, otherwise, they couldn't ship it inexpensively enough to offer it on Amazon. I'd order it and give your project a try. Can't wait to see the "after" pics.

I clicked on one and nearly fell out of my chair! I had no idea these things were so expensive. I say go for the one with the mirror and just leave it off at assembly time : o)

I don't see any pictures...

I agree, It says assembly required. So it probably does not have to be attached from the get go. I think its a great idea. Go for it and let us see how it turned out!

i say go for it and it sounds as if you won't even have to do any welding since it says assembly required...?

Just found you.New follower. I have been looking for bar carts as well. I am obsessed! What a deal. For that price and the fact it has to be assembled I would not be worried about the mirror! I think it will be fabulous.

Wow - when did bar carts get so crazy expensive?
I sold one last summer for only 150.00!!!!!
I think it's a great idea - ingenious really - and I am sure the mirror simply screws on and off - no need for welding!
And if you wanted to leave it stationary - it's big enough that you could probably find a smaller vintage brass table that you could slide in and out of it..........Good luck!

Ha! You're too funny, that is something I'd try on a Goodwill bargain and then if I ruined it no big deal, but for $170, and the trouble, I'd keep looking! :)
