You guys know that the FTC has required bloggers to
disclose affiliate relationships, right? Well, in typical fashion,
they've made what I think is a great policy, but haven't told us what to
say. So, I'm doing my best to sum it up here: Amazon pays me a
commission for advertising their products (books included) on this site
if a reader clicks the link and buys something. So do the entities
listed in the sidebar under "my sponsors" including Layla Grayce,
Littman Brothers, the stores on the ShopStyle ads, and others ( as time
goes on I may add more). They do not pay me anything if you click over
and don't buy within a certain amount of time (usually 30-60 days).
Google, Chitika, and similar companies pay me every time a reader clicks
on a certain ads, usually a penny I think(!) whether she buys something
or not. Other sponsors have paid to have their photos, ads, or words
placed on the site. I hope that covers it -- please email me any time if
you have questions!
Amazon
wants me to add this, although I think it could be better written :)
